Ideal candidates will have trade qualifications, strong carpentry skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship. <h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>Competitive hourly rate based on experience.</li><li>Additional allowances for remote/bush work</li><li>Opportunities for career development and training.</li><li>Supportive team environment.</li><li>Travel allowances for remote site work.</li><li>Access to NT Link’s employee wellness program</li><li>Great additional benefits</li></ul> <h3>Task & responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Study drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions, and installation procedures.</li><li>Order and select timbers and materials, and prepare layouts for construction.</li><li>Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and other materials using hand and power tools.</li><li>Construct and install frameworks, roof trusses, sub-flooring, floorboards, staircases, doors, windows, and cabinetry.</li><li>Nail fascia panels, sheathe roofs, and fit exterior wall cladding and door/window frames.</li><li>Assemble prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready for installation.</li><li>Cut wood joints and may work with plastic laminates, perspex, and metals.</li><li>Construct and install concrete formwork as needed.</li><li>Repair and renovate existing wooden fittings and structures.</li><li>Install fixtures such as door handles, locks, hardware, flooring underlay, suspended ceilings, and insulating materials.</li><li>Level sites by removing scrub, timber, rocks, and other foreign material to prepare for construction.</li><li>Dig holes for footings, spread and level soil, gravel, and sand on roads, driveways, and trench bottoms.</li><li>Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment.</li><li>Erect and dismantle temporary structures such as barricades and scaffolding around work sites.</li><li>Collect and remove rubble and waste material from sites.</li><li>Perform other duties as directed, ensuring compliance with safety and building regulations.</li><li>Work both in a team and autonomously, under the guidance of Leading Hands and Site Supervisors</li></ul> <h3>Qualification & experience</h3><ul><li>Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification, or 3 years of experience, will replace a formal qualification.</li><li>Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and tools.</li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.</li><li>Physical strength and stamina to perform manual tasks.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.</li><li>Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.</li><li>Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.</li></ul>
